Legal Practice Areas

Broadly speaking, we are Family Law and Estate Planning Attorneys. There are a lot of lawyers out there, so it is important to find one you like and trust. Remember, your choice of a lawyer is important – it will impact the most important and intimate areas of your life – so you should NOT make your selection of a lawyer on advertising alone. You should be prepared to interview and get to know your potential attorney before you hire him or her. This is why we offer a 30 minute free consultation to potential clients. We are able to meet and talk about your individual situation – and most importantly, we can get to know each other.

Please call 816-256-5440 to schedule your free thirty minute no obligation appointment so we can get to know each other and determine how we can help you.

We have an easy intake process. When you call, Jess or one of our staff will listen to your immediate Family Law or Estate Planning needs and work with you to get you in as quickly as possible. We can often accommodate emergency or same-day appointments in appropriate circumstances. Once your appointment is scheduled, you will receive an email with a link to our confidential intake form that is appropriate for your case. You can complete this confidential form online and it will be sent back to our secure and confidential system. You also have the option of printing the form, or completing it in our office.

Documents to bring with you for your initial appointment:
If you have a prior decree or judgment in place, please bring a copy of it with you.
If you have been served with papers, please bring them with you.
If you have a police report, please bring it with you.

Family Law encompasses a large, sometimes complex, and often highly emotional area of the law. Kiske Law Office Family Lawyers can help you with everything from divorce to establishment of paternity and child custody; pre-nuptial agreements and post nuptial agreements; legal separations; child support and spousal support; property division; step parent adoption; grandparent and third-party custody; guardianship of children or adults with persons outside of the family; ex parte orders and orders of protection; and DFS or Children’s Division investigations and involvement; and name changes. We have also found that people going through the stress of significant and intimate family changes often also need help with traffic and other minor offenses that would not have otherwise occurred, including DWI and other municipal offenses. Kiske Law Office is able to assist you with these legal issues.
