Most military child custody plans involve the same considerations for child custody as all other cases involving child custody and child support issues.
The unique considerations for military members include the following: long distance parenting, frequent relocations of the members of the family, deployment, implementation of documents by the deploying parent for support of the child in the event the parent fails to return from deployment, contact with the deployed parent’s extended family during deployment or in the event the deployed parent fails to return, parental contact with the child during the parent’s deployment, return from deployment and resumption of the regular parenting schedule.
