Municipal Court Tickets and Other Offenses

Most municipal court violations come in the form of tickets. You may or may not have been arrested. For other offenses, you will likely have been arrested.

REMEMBER: YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT. The right to remain silent is NOT an invitation to talk. The way to exercise your right to remain silent is to simply state, over and over again, “I want a lawyer.” There’s a great clip in Luke Cage where Shades does this beautifully:

Examples of municipal court and other offenses that we handle:

Municipal Court Tickets and Other Offenses

  • Traffic offenses
  • DWI/DUI
  • Driving while suspended
  • Domestic violence
  • Non support
  • Child endangerment
  • Animal control
  • Building code violations
  • Property crimes
  • Drug and drug paraphernalia possession
  • Failure to appear

Don’t just pay the ticket and send it in! Some of the offenses have bigger consequences than you may be aware of. For example, a simple traffic ticket could result in an increase in your insurance rates. A DWI conviction may impair your ability to travel to Canada. A drug conviction may be used against you later in a custody battle. A child endangerment conviction may prevent you from having custody of your children.

The lawyers at Kiske Law Office can help you. Depending on the case, you may or may not have to attend court.
